Big News on Sept. 18th, 2010 Susie's Scholarship was endowed. God bless you Susie, your dream is alive!

The 2009 Team Susie For Life Scholarship recipients were honored at the Coalition For Life Benefit 2009 Dinner which featured presidential hopeful Gov. Mike Huckabee as the guest of honor. The Governor graciously posed for pictures with the winners.

Each of these young American role models deserve our respect and admiration as they are the ones on the front lines of the pro life movement trying their best to save lives.

The Coalition for Life was gracious once again as their leader Shawn Carney gave a moving and heartfelt explanation of the life of Susan and his friendship with her. He spoke of her courage and undying love of life as well as her commitment to the unborn. He then allowed  Joe Calvey, Sr. to deliver a short message. He thanked those in attendance and complimented the winners and spoke of two things.

"Actors, athletes, ballerinas practice and perform, criminals commit crimes, we need a paradigm shift in describing the actions of doctors who are abortionists as doctors who commit abortion."

Next, he reminded Shawn that last year Shawn spoke of Susie's great sense of humor. He told the crowd of 1529 people that indeed Susie did have a great sense of humor and that if she could be here physically tonight she too would be wearing a Team Susie For Life tee shirt but hers would say.... DON'T BLAME ME I VOTED FOR HUCKABEE.

Afterwards Calvey Sr., stated he had three things to do at this year's dinner, first to carry out his daughter's wishes and deliver the scholarships to the students and recognize their dedication and selfless sacrifice. Next, to deliver a short but to the point message about abortion that Susan would have approved of. Finally he wished to celebrate Susan in a way which wasn't sad but was instead joyful.

TEAM SUSIE FOR LIFE  wishes to thank the Coalition For Life fir allowing it to be a part of this year's event.
